    Marcel,

The City provides a Web Map Service that provides "orthorectified" Images.

Check it out at - http://www.toronto.ca/open/datasets/web-map-services/

Yes, I've seen it, but we need better access to the pixels! For GIS work, you need to be able to get the actual image as I'm sure you know. Most GIS repositories in the US have a download site. It's not enough to simply get the WMS.

Those interested in greater access to aerial imagery in general should be aware of the OpenAerialMap project. An analogue of OpenStreetMap, OpenAerialMap intends to provide access to aerial imagery to those who want to use it. A prototype service ran for several months in 2008 and generated great interest and sadly too much work for the volunteers running it.

The OAM community is 'rebooting' and seeks those with an interest in making the service sustainable and scalable. Part of the goal for sustainable, scalable architecture is securing federated servers for that architecture. If you can contribute 10TB+ of backed-up storage and a fast, reliable connectivity to the OAM community we'd love to hear from you.

More information on the OAM mailing list. talk@openaerialmap.org http://openaerialmap.org/mailman/listinfo/talk_openaerialmap.org
